Florida VAB petition is the property tax review lane
Florida's Value Adjustment Board process is the formal review path for some property value, exemption, classification, deferral, and portability disputes.
If a Florida property value or exemption decision looks wrong, a phone call may not be the whole review path.
The Value Adjustment Board is often called the VAB. It hears some property tax appeals. The issue might be value, an exemption, a land classification, a tax deferral, portability, or an ownership question.
The petition goes through the VAB clerk in the county where the property is located. The timing can be short, especially after a denial letter or a TRIM notice. If a property tax paper looks off, do not let it sit in a drawer while you wait for the later bill.
Start by asking the property appraiser what the record shows. Then check the county VAB clerk page for forms, dates, and hearing details. Keep the notice, parcel record, exemption papers, photos, appraisals, and any letters you send or receive.
