St. Augustine parking starts with the garage and peak days
Historic St. Augustine is easier to enjoy when downtown parking, the city garage, events, walking distance, and enforcement are checked first.
St. Augustine is easy to love and easy to underestimate on a busy day.
The historic core has narrow streets, small blocks, private lots, resident areas, tours, events, and a lot of people trying to land near the same few places. The city garage can be the easiest starting point for many visits, but it is still smart to check rates, hours, space, and event traffic.
Before you go, decide whether the trip is a quick errand, a long walk, a restaurant night, or a full tourist day. Those plans may point to different parking choices. Wear shoes that make sense on old streets and leave extra time if the visit falls near a festival, holiday, or big weekend.
The old city feels better when the car is handled early. Park once if you can, then let the town be a walking place.
