Florida small crash paperwork starts before the report

After a Florida fender-bender, the useful file starts with safety, driver exchange, photos, insurance details, and the right report lane.

A small Florida crash can feel simple until the next form, claim, or phone call asks for details.

Start with safety. If anyone may be hurt, if a vehicle cannot move, or if the damage looks serious, call local law enforcement. For some lower-damage crashes, Florida has a driver self-report or driver exchange path instead.

The useful file starts at the scene. Get the other driver’s name, license, plate, insurance, phone number, and vehicle details. Take photos of the cars, tags, location, signs, road layout, and visible damage. Write down the time, weather, and where each vehicle was going.

After that, keep the claim number, repair estimate, report number, messages, and any self-report paper together. Crash reports can have access limits and timing rules, so do not count on pulling every detail later from memory.

This is not about turning a small bump into a big event. It is about keeping the facts tidy while they are still fresh.
