Florida moving company registration is a before-the-truck check

Moves within Florida can involve an FDACS mover or moving broker registration check before boxes go on the truck.

For a move that stays inside Florida, the low bid is not the only detail to check.

FDACS has a state record for in-state movers of household goods and moving brokers. A broker and a mover are not always the same company. The name on the website, the name taking the deposit, and the name on the truck may not match.

Before move day, search the exact business name. Ask if the company is the mover, the broker, or both. If another company will bring the truck, get that name too. This does not make packing easy. It just helps you pause before paying a large deposit to a name you have not matched.

Keep the written bid, list of goods, pickup date, drop-off date, pay terms, state record, and contact names in one folder. If the plan changes, update the file while everyone still knows what was promised.
