Florida CHOICES rate tool is a sample, not a quote
Florida's CHOICES tools compare approved rates for fixed sample scenarios, not a quote for a particular home, driver, or policy.
Florida’s CHOICES tools compare recent approved auto and home insurance rates. A reader can search by county or company.
Each tool uses three fixed examples. It does not know the full facts about a home, roof, car, driver, discount, or amount of coverage. The result is therefore a market sample, not a quote.
Some rate data can be left out when a company claims trade-secret protection. A home insurer shown in the tool also may not be writing new policies. OIR does not promise that a listed company or price will be open to a given home.
Use CHOICES to see the range in a county, then ask for real quotes. Compare the same coverage amounts, not just the first price. Also check the deductibles, items left out, flood coverage, inspection rules, and discounts.
Keep the sample, quotes, and final policy page together. That record helps show whether the price changed because of the market, the coverage, or facts about the household.
