Florida CHOICES rate tool is a sample, not a quote

Florida's CHOICES tools can show sample insurance rates by county or company, but a household still needs real quotes for its own details.

Florida insurance prices can feel easier to compare once you know about CHOICES.

The Office of Insurance Regulation built CHOICES to show rate information for several types of insurance. The homeowners and auto tools use sample situations. That makes the tool helpful for getting a county-level feel, but it is not the same as a real quote for your house, car, driver record, roof, deductible, or coverage needs.

Use it as a starting point. If you are moving from Tampa to Ocala, checking a coastal county, pricing a teen driver, or comparing a home with different wind features, the sample rates can help frame the question.

Then get actual quotes. Ask what coverage is included, what deductible applies, whether flood is separate, and what discounts or inspections are being used.

Save the CHOICES sample, the quotes, and the final policy page in the same folder. Later, it is much easier to see what changed.
