Panama City utility service can cross city limits

Panama City water and wastewater reach parts of unincorporated Bay County, while the county has separate utility service areas. Confirm the provider at the street address before opening an account.

When you set up a Panama City home, start with the street address, not the city name on the mail.

Panama City’s water and sewer lines reach the city and parts of Bay County outside it. Bay County also has its own utility service areas. Those lines can make a Panama City mailing address a poor guide to the right account. Ask the seller or landlord for a recent bill, then confirm the provider before you apply.

If the home uses Panama City utilities, the billing office handles new accounts, transfers, name changes, and closing an account. Your deposit depends on the meter size and whether the home is inside or outside city limits. Once you know the provider, use its current form or visit City Hall. A ZIP code alone does not settle it.

Trash needs a separate check. When a home has Panama City garbage service, the blue cart stays with that address after a move. If the account is active but no cart is there, call Environmental Services for one.
