Palm Beach County evacuation zones start with the address
Palm Beach County storm planning works best when the evacuation zone, flood question, and shelter plan are checked separately.
Palm Beach County is big enough that one storm plan can miss the point.
The right question starts with the address. A coastal condo, western acreage, mobile home, barrier-island property, senior community, and inland apartment may have different storm decisions. The county’s zone tools help you sort that out before a watch or warning makes everything feel rushed.
Keep the terms separate. An evacuation zone is not the same as a flood insurance zone. A shelter opening is not the same as an order to leave. A bridge, marina, hospital, or road closure can change the practical side of the plan even when the map looks simple.
Check the county’s Know Your Zone information, then write down the zone, nearest shelter options, pet plan, medical needs, and the route you would use. If you are new to the county, do this before the first named storm is near Florida.
