Gilchrist County handyman license is not a county shortcut
Gilchrist County points residents back to real license checks instead of a county handyman shortcut.
Gilchrist County gives a simple warning for home repairs: do not lean on a local “handyman license” as a shortcut.
Gilchrist County does not give out county handyman licenses. It also warns people to be careful when a seller or worker asks them to pull the permit. That small point can save a lot of trouble.
If a job needs a permit or a licensed trade, check the license and ask who will pull the permit. Ask who handles inspections too. A person may be fine for small jobs, but that does not mean they can do every roof, electric, plumbing, framing, or air-conditioning job.
For work around Trenton or the rest of the county, call the building office if the answer is not clear. Keep the estimate, license name, permit number, and inspection record together. Ask careful questions before the wall is closed up or the roof is already paid for.
