Gainesville RTS makes UF trips less parking heavy
Gainesville's RTS can make University of Florida trips easier, but routes, passes, schedules, and campus rules need checking.
Gainesville is a college town where parking can become the whole errand if you let it.
RTS gives students, workers, visitors, and residents another way to reach the University of Florida and nearby parts of town. That can help with class days, hospital visits, downtown trips, football weekends, and apartment choices. It is especially useful when the place you need is near a route and the schedule fits the hour.
The details still matter. Routes can change. Service can run differently at night, on weekends, during breaks, or around major events. UF parking and transit rules are their own layer, and city bus service is not the same as a promised front-door ride.
Start with the RTS route and UF transportation information. Check the stop, timing, fare or pass rule, and the walk from the bus to the building. If you are choosing housing, test the trip during a normal weekday.
