Fort Pierce Inlet keeps the Treasure Coast ocean close
Fort Pierce Inlet State Park gives St. Lucie County a compact ocean, inlet, beach, and surf check.
Fort Pierce Inlet State Park gives the Treasure Coast a simple ocean doorway.
The park sits where beach, inlet, fishing, surfing, swimming, and coastal habitat are all close together. That makes it a useful St. Lucie County anchor for people who know Port St. Lucie as inland growth and Fort Pierce as the older coastal city.
The inlet setting is also the reason to check conditions. Swimming, surf, fishing, wind, tides, erosion, parking, fees, and access can all change the kind of day you have. A beach that works for a walk may not be right for swimming. A surf morning may not be the family picnic someone had in mind.
Start with the Florida State Parks page and current weather before you go. Bring sun cover, water, and a plan B. If fishing or surfing is the goal, check local rules and conditions before treating the inlet like a fixed promise.
