Florida vehicle service agreements are separate papers

A Florida vehicle service agreement can look like an extended warranty, but the coverage, price, exclusions, and cancellation terms live in the contract.

A vehicle service agreement can show up near the end of a car deal, right when everyone is tired and the papers start blending together.

In Florida, this kind of agreement is separate from the car price, the loan, the factory warranty, and regular auto insurance. It may help pay for certain repairs after a warranty period or after certain parts fail, but the details depend on the contract. The name may sound simple. The coverage usually is not.

Before signing, read the parts list, exclusions, deductible, claim process, repair-shop rules, cancellation terms, and who actually backs the agreement. Also check whether the price is being added to the loan, because a monthly payment can hide the full cost. If the salesperson talks quickly, ask for the paper and take a quiet minute with it.

This is not about saying yes or no to every service agreement. Some buyers like the extra planning. Others would rather keep the money separate for repairs. The important part is making the choice from the contract itself, not from the small talk at the desk.
