Florida termite checks belong in the home file

Florida termite questions deserve licensed pest-control paperwork, because the right answer depends on the insect, the structure, and the treatment record.

Termites are a Florida home topic that belongs in the same folder as the roof, insurance, and permits.

Florida has several termite types. Treatment can depend on what is actually present. The home file should show who inspected the home, what they found, what was treated, and what paper backs it up. A Wood-Destroying Organisms inspection report is often part of that record.

For a buyer, the question is bigger than “Are there termites?” Ask for the WDO report if one was done. Ask for past treatment papers, bond or contract details, repair records, and any transfer terms. For an owner, keep the treatment map, warranty or bond, renewal notes, and company license facts together. A future buyer, insurer, lender, or repair person may ask for the same trail.

Do not let this turn into fear around every wood frame, porch, or old beam. Many Florida homes manage termite risk with checks, care, and treatment. The calmer path is to name the issue, use a licensed company, keep the records, and ask FDACS or a qualified pro when a pest-control answer sounds thin.
