Florida radon wording is not a test result

Florida sale and rental papers can include radon language, but that wording is different from an actual test of the building.

Florida real-estate and rental papers can include a radon notice, and it is easy to read too much into it.

The notice says radon is a natural gas. It says high levels have been found in some Florida buildings. It also points people to the county health department for more information. That sentence is a notice. It is not the same as a recent radon test for the house, condo, apartment, school, or office.

For most people, the right move is simple. Do not treat the words as a panic signal. Do not treat them as a clean bill either. If radon matters to your decision, ask whether the building has test results. Ask when they were taken, who did the test, and whether any radon system is in place.

Florida also has rules for people who measure or fix radon for pay. If you want a current answer, use a qualified testing path and keep the report with the rest of the property papers. A short notice on a contract is just the start of the question.
