Florida DBPR complaints need the right profession lane

DBPR has complaint and unlicensed-activity paths, but the right route depends on the profession and what went wrong.

When a Florida license problem comes up, the first question is who watches over that kind of work.

DBPR has a complaint path for jobs and businesses it regulates. It also has a separate path for work that may be unlicensed. That means the first step is sorting the type of work.

DBPR covers many lanes. A few are construction, barber shops, salons, home inspectors, mold work, real estate, and vet care. It does not cover every problem. Health care licenses, child care, insurance, local permits, food safety, and landlord disputes may go somewhere else.

Keep the file simple before you submit anything. Save the contract, bill, license number, photos, messages, payment proof, permit record, and work date. If the issue is about unlicensed work, write down the name used, the address, and the service offered.

Use the DBPR page to pick the work type first. If it is not listed, contact DBPR or the local office that handles that activity before sending the same complaint to several places.
