Bonita Springs sends searches for building permits, site plans, development orders, and other Community Development records to its city e-portal. The portal can search by address, permit number, or name. For project records from before June 29, 2008, the city points readers to Lee County Community Development.
Start with the exact property address and the kind of paper you need. Search the city portal first for newer work. If the addition, roof, pool, or other project is older than the city’s record line, check Lee County too. Keep the permit number and project name if either search finds them.
A permit application and a permit history are different errands. The live application page has current forms for new work. The records page helps with earlier work. Neither replaces the Lee County Clerk for deeds and mortgages, the Property Appraiser for parcel details, or the Tax Collector for tax payments.
For a purchase or repair file, keep the permit search, approved plans, inspection results, and closeout record together. An address may have work on both sides of the 2008 line. Checking both lanes is easier than assuming one portal holds the whole history.
