Washington Oaks shows Flagler's garden and coquina shore

Washington Oaks Gardens State Park gives Flagler County formal gardens, coastal hammock, and a rocky coquina shoreline that needs tide and safety checks.

Washington Oaks Gardens State Park gives Flagler County a different kind of coastal stop.

On one side, the park has formal gardens, trees, paths, and a quieter old-estate feel. On the ocean side, the coquina rock shoreline makes the beach look rougher and more dramatic than a smooth stretch of sand. That contrast is the point.

Check the state park page before visiting. Fees, hours, garden areas, beach access, tides, waves, and any storm effects can change the plan. The rocky shore can be beautiful, but it is not the same as a soft swimming beach. Watch your footing and keep kids close near the rocks.

For Palm Coast and Flagler County, Washington Oaks adds texture to the map. The coast here is not one long repeated beach. Some pieces are garden, hammock, rock, and tide. Plan the visit for slow looking, not just a quick swim.
