North Port utility setup starts with the service address

The city name alone does not tell you who supplies the water and sewer.

North Port’s map shows water and sewer availability by address. Start there. Then ask the city to confirm the current service answer. The map is a planning tool, not a promise that a parcel can open an account.

If North Port Utilities serves the home, the city’s current instructions put the account in the owner’s name. They ask the owner for final signed proof, such as a deed, title, or closing statement. The city asks for it within ten calendar days after closing. Put that paper on the closing checklist, not in a later moving box.

A vacant home may still have a base bill. The city code separates the base facility charge from metered use. Ask about both before treating low water use as a zero bill.

Keep the provider check, account notice, proof of ownership, and first bill together. If the map and utility answer do not match, stop with the city before relying on an old listing or seller account.
