Margate waste disposal starts with the Waste Wizard

Margate separates ordinary garbage, bulk and yard waste, and household hazardous waste. Search the item first, then use the live collection path.

One cleanup pile can contain three different disposal jobs.

Margate’s Waste Wizard lets a resident search an item by name before choosing a cart, curb, or drop-off path. Start there for the odd object that does not clearly belong in ordinary garbage or recycling.

Bulk items and yard waste have their own collection page and address-based map. Household hazardous waste is different again. It does not go in regular garbage or at the curb. Margate residents use the participating Broward County drop-off program instead.

Do not memorize a collection day, drop-off site, or item limit from an old note. Those details can change. Use the current city map for the address and the county page for current eligibility, accepted material, proof of residency, hours, and locations.

The simple order is item first, address second, live schedule last. That keeps a can of paint, a branch pile, and an old chair from being treated as the same kind of trash.
