Manatee Public Beach and Coquina need a parking plan
Anna Maria Island beach days work better when Manatee Public Beach, Coquina Beach, traffic, parking, and trolley options are checked together.
Manatee Public Beach and Coquina Beach are close enough on the map that a visitor may treat them like one simple beach choice. On a busy day, the parking plan makes them feel very different.
Manatee Public Beach sits near the middle of Anna Maria Island’s main beach activity. Coquina is farther south, with a different layout and access feel. Traffic on and off the island can turn a quick beach run into a much longer errand.
Check the county pages before you go, then decide how early you need to leave, where you will park, and whether a trolley or a different access point makes sense. Pack as if you may walk farther than planned.
The beaches are popular for good reasons. A little planning keeps the day focused on water, sand, and shade instead of circling for a space.
