Historic Palm Cottage keeps Old Naples at house scale

Historic Palm Cottage gives Naples a real old-house anchor, with tabby walls, early visitor history, and a Historic District walk nearby.

Naples can feel polished from the beach road. Historic Palm Cottage brings the city back down to house scale.

The cottage sits near 12th Avenue South and Gulfshore Boulevard, close to the Naples Historic District. Naples Historical Society runs house tours there and also points visitors toward nearby district stories. The building itself is old Florida in a very hands-on way: tabby mortar, shell, sand, water, tall rooms, and a layout made for early guests.

You do not have to be a museum person to enjoy it. The house shows a Naples that came before the high-end real estate image took over the whole conversation. There were winter guests, fishing trips, old hotels, local builders, handmade walls, and families trying to make a small Gulf place work.

If you go, check the tour schedule before you park. Give yourself time to walk the nearby streets too. Palm Cottage is easiest to enjoy when it is not squeezed into a busy beach day.
