Gasparilla Island Bridge makes Boca Grande a toll-bridge plan

The Boca Grande trip starts with the Gasparilla Island Bridge Authority causeway, where tolls, passes, bikes, trucks, and island timing are part of the drive.

Boca Grande feels tucked away partly because the drive changes before you reach the island.

The Gasparilla Island Bridge Authority runs the causeway between the mainland near Placida and Gasparilla Island. The toll is part of the trip. Passenger cars and pickup trucks have one rate. Larger vehicles use an axle-based rate. Bicycles and bridge passes have their own details too.

That gives the island a different feel from a beach town with a free road straight in. Visitors, workers, delivery trucks, bikes, boat days, beach days, and seasonal traffic all meet at the same bridge system. A short island visit still starts with a mainland-side decision.

Before you go, check current tolls, payment options, bridge notices, weather, and parking. If you are pulling a trailer, driving a larger vehicle, biking, or heading over for work, look at the details before you are already in the lane.
