Florida WIC starts with a local clinic
Florida WIC combines statewide eligibility rules with appointments and nutrition help through the local county clinic.
Florida WIC may help someone who is pregnant, nursing, or recently pregnant. It may also help an infant or a child under 5. The person must live in Florida and meet the income rules. A WIC review must also find a food or health risk.
Medicaid, cash aid, or food aid can prove the income step. A family does not need to get public aid before it can apply. WIC offers food benefits, food guidance, and nursing support through local clinics.
Start with the clinic for your county. That office handles the visit and the final review. Use Florida’s county contact list to find the right clinic.
Bring ID, one current paper with the Florida address, and proof of income. The income paper may not be needed when another aid program proves that step. Bring a health referral, Social Security number, and shot record if they are handy. Their absence should not stop someone from applying.
Call before the visit when a paper is hard to find. The clinic can explain what will work and how the food benefits are used.
