Florida Sunbiz annual reports have a real calendar

Florida businesses use Sunbiz annual reports to keep entity records active, and the filing window deserves a calendar reminder.

Sunbiz is easy to ignore until a bank, landlord, client, lender, or state form asks whether a Florida business is active.

The annual report is a routine filing for many Florida business entities. It helps keep the public record fresh with the Division of Corporations. It is not the same as an income tax return. It is also not a place to rewrite the whole business plan.

The form updates basic public records. That can include names, addresses, managers, officers, or registered agent information. Put the filing window on the business calendar early in the year. Add a second reminder for the person who actually files it.

If an address or registered agent changed, gather that information before opening the form. Use the official Sunbiz annual report page, then save the confirmation.

This is a small chore, but it can affect banking, contracts, and proof that the business is still active.
