Rules and licenses
Florida assisted living checks start with AHCA Finder
AHCA's facility finder can help families check licensed assisted living and care facilities before tours, calls, and paperwork.
Looking at assisted living in Florida can get emotional fast. A calm first step is to check whether the place is in AHCA’s facility finder.
The finder can help you look up licensed facilities and basic public information before you schedule a tour or send paperwork. It does not replace a visit, a doctor conversation, or careful family judgment. It simply gives you an official starting point so you are not relying only on a brochure or a phone call.
Search by name, city, county, or facility type, then write down what you find. If the name on a sign, website, or contract looks a little different, ask the facility to point you to its licensed name.
After that, tour the place, ask about staffing, fees, medication help, transportation, meals, and move-out rules. The official lookup is the first check. The day-to-day fit is a separate conversation.
