Open every path that fits the household. The accounts can run at the same time, but each one keeps its own notices, proof, and decision.
A job ended or hours fell
Reemployment Assistance starts with FloridaCommerce
Florida calls unemployment insurance Reemployment Assistance. Workers apply and manage the claim through Reconnect. MyACCESS is separate, so applying for food, cash, or Medicaid does not open a job-loss claim.
Florida DCF uses one MyACCESS application for SNAP food assistance, Temporary Cash Assistance, and Medicaid. Each program still has its own rules. Use the account to apply, send proof, read notices, renew, and report a change.
FloridaCommerce sends home-energy help through local providers. The provider serving your county takes the application and follows the current rules and funding. MyACCESS does not apply for LIHEAP.
A local CareerSource team can help with a job search, resume, interview, or training. FloridaCommerce still runs Reemployment Assistance, so keep the career help and claim connected without treating them as one service.
Keep one household story and several program files.
1.Write down what changed.
Use the date a job ended, hours changed, income fell, coverage ended, or a bill became urgent. That date helps each program follow the same household story.
2.Open each application that fits.
Use Reconnect for Reemployment Assistance and MyACCESS for DCF food, cash, and Medicaid programs. Use the county provider for LIHEAP. One application does not quietly create the others.
3.Save what the system gives back.
Keep confirmation pages, case or claim numbers, uploaded documents, notices, and the date of every call. A screenshot is useful, but keep the full notice when it explains a deadline or decision.
4.Read notices before asking another office.
A notice usually names the program, what is missing, and how to respond or appeal. Follow that program's help path instead of starting over at an office that cannot see the case.
5.Keep the work search moving too.
A CareerSource center can help with the next job while a Reemployment Assistance claim is pending. Continue following the claim instructions and checking Reconnect for requests.
One household, four files
A cut in work hours can open more than one useful path.
Suppose a worker's hours fall, the grocery budget tightens, and the power bill is already late. The household may check Reemployment Assistance, submit a MyACCESS application, call the county LIHEAP provider, and use CareerSource for the job search. Those steps support the same household, but none of the four applications proves eligibility for another.
Keep the boundaries clear
The handoff matters as much as the application.
One approval does not approve the rest.
SNAP, Temporary Cash Assistance, Medicaid, Reemployment Assistance, and LIHEAP have separate rules. A household can qualify for one and not another.
The local provider matters for energy help.
FloridaCommerce runs LIHEAP statewide, but the provider for the county handles the household form. Funds and appointment times can change.
Career help is not the claim decision.
CareerSource can support the job search and help people use local services. FloridaCommerce still makes the Reemployment Assistance decision.
A notice is part of the benefit, not junk mail.
A request for proof, renewal, benefit payment, decision, or appeal can carry its own clock. Keep the notice with the account it came from.
No. Florida Reemployment Assistance uses Reconnect through FloridaCommerce. MyACCESS is the DCF account for food assistance, Temporary Cash Assistance, Medicaid, and related case work.
Does one MyACCESS application cover food, cash, and Medicaid?
DCF uses one application for its aid programs, but SNAP, Temporary Cash Assistance, and Medicaid still have different rules. Read each decision in MyACCESS instead of assuming one result controls every program.
Where can someone get help with a Florida job search?
CareerSource Florida's local network offers job-search, resume, interview, and training help. FloridaCommerce, not CareerSource, runs the Reemployment Assistance claim.
Is LIHEAP part of MyACCESS?
No. FloridaCommerce runs LIHEAP through local providers. Use the state list to find the provider for the county, then ask about current forms and funds.
What should happen after a denial or request for more information?
Read the full notice first. It should name the program, missing proof or decision, response path, and any review or appeal steps. Save it and reply through that program's official account or help center.
Official checks
Benefits, work, and energy-help sources
These programs share a household, but they do not share one decision. Use the official account or local provider attached to each application.
Use this carefully: Program rules, funding, notices, and account screens can change. Read the current official page and every notice before relying on a deadline, payment, eligibility result, or appeal path.
